piano recital

"My name is Kate and I will be playing 'Big Black Cat' and 'Row, Row, Row Your Boat'"

Kate had her first piano recital.  She was excited and brave.  She stood with confidence and introduced herself and the music pieces she would play!  We were really proud of her hard work and willingness to share what she is learning!  Yay Kate!

p.s.  How great is the yellow grand piano at the recital hall!?

renew~

Ellie turned 8 years old in March.  It was a special month.  She chose to be baptized...which I think as parents, has been one of our favorite experiences.  It was wonderful.  Unfortunately, in April...my computer crashed.  I had backed up most things...but her baptism pictures were one of the files I lost.  I had made a book of them...but I wanted to have the pictures.  I asked...no begged is a better word...Ellie if we could do it again.  My friend Shauna let us re-shoot them in a special spot in her yard.  It reminds me of a beautiful grove~

Thank you Ellie and Shauna!!

no she didn't....

No she didn't climb out of bed after I tucked her in "snuggly" and read her "Goldilicious" (her favorite book)!

No she didn't sneak upstairs after I quietly tiptoed from her room and went to read to her sisters.

No she didn't take scissors from her mom and dad's bathroom and cut off inches of hair above the ears on both sides.

No she didn't come back downstairs where we were reading as if there wasn't a mound of hair left on the floor of the bathroom.

Yes.she.did.

How does your garden grow?

Our first planting was this evening in our vegetable garden!  It was SO NICE to have the sun kiss our skin and dirt under our fingernails (those of us who don't wear gloves)!!!!  What we planted:

plants:  2 varieties of lettuce, rainbow chard, broccoli, snow peas, and sugar snap peas...
seeds:  beets, carrots, corn, and kale

We are excited for warmer weather, growing plants, & a bountiful harvest!  :)
