a date night for three

It is snapshot with the phone...
the quality of the image is nothing to be excited about...
but the gaps in her teeth, her hair past her shoulders, sitting on her dad's lap
(yes his legs are running along the bench...we are classy like that at Nielsen's)
make me want to remember this image forever.

snowshoeing with sisters

We are never quite so adventurous until Annie comes home.
Snowshoeing with these two was one of my very favorite memories this Christmas.

Merry Christmas

Early on a November morning...by sweet friend Catie drove up with us to the family cabin at Sundance...to freeze her tail off...like no friend has ever done before!...to take our family's pictures.  Thanks for suffering frostbite for us---dear Catie!!!

Grandparent Party

We had our annual GRANDPARENT PARTY!!!  Sophie and I played a duet of Good King Wenceslas on the piano.  Kate and Ellie played the songs they had learned for their Christmas Concert this year.  To the grandmas we gave duvet slippers (Restoration Hardware).  To Papa Davis we have a hands-free magnifying glass (Restoration Hardware).  To Papa Miller we gave him the final revision/edit of his life history!  We hope all of the grandparents will write their life histories so that we can give that gift again!!!
